Hijari Lakmapura pond

                 I am now working in the Haveri district. I am working as a District Program Manager on contractual basis with the the NHM. I am staying in a PG in the Outskirts of Haveri. My office is situated in  Devagiri Zilla Adalitha Bhavan. On the way to office every day I see a pond on the way. The temple is built on the edge of it. People are slowly taking effort to encroach the same in a circular way. 

                  I believe this pond is the source for cattle to drink and also it is reason for the underground water coming out of the bore wells in the near by houses.If this pond is encroached water source will completely wiped out and definitely there will by cry for water. Possibly it will be a man made error and mistake. 

        District administration and concerned department must take effort to stop this encroachment.Plant saplings on the pond walls, and awareness needs to be created among the people. Every pond and peeple tree saves thousand of people. Peeple tree provides oxygen and pond provides clear water. After taking steps efforts must be taken to ensure that the drainage water do not mix with the pond water. It will not be robbed by the water robbers to supply in tanks.
